The wait is over! :) The great IT company that had hired me an year ago through campus placements has finally called us for training.
The relief and joy was short lived though as they gave us this long, long list of things to do, documents to get attested, affidavits to be made and so on and so forth. :( I am spending more money on this job than I'm earning (so far atleast).
Anyway..... months and months of rotting away to waste have come to an end and now I again have a purpose in life... something to do! It's a beautiful feeling! :) :)

Man vs Monkey
Monkeys are a huge problem all over India. And so it is in our area. The area that I live in is known for the Monkey Menace. Today, we faced another attack. This time it was different. Usually, one or two monkeys used to enter through the open balcony door of the kitchen to steal some dal or channa or oats. This time, they were more daring, more aggressive. They not only stole stuff from the kitchen, they entered the dining room and climbed the table. Not only that, they also snarled at us and didnt run away as we chased them. They infact came onto us. Thankfully, we found a stick and using a chair as a shield, we got rid of them.
But, we still lost some vermicelli, macaroni and a packet of maggi. These were strewn all over the floor. I'm thankful that none of us got hurt in this battle.

Channel Partner?/ Salman Khan
I wanted to take a new prepaid phone, because of the huge bills I was running up on my postpaid connection. So, my friend and I walked into a local(kirana) shop and asked about the various types of offers available. The shopkeeper immediately told us about a particular offer which was the latest being offered.
My friend and I decided not to take it. We thought we would go for the regular offer. The shopkeeper suddenly looked displeased and started handling other customers. We waited. Then, he returned to us. We asked him to recharge the phone and asked for some specific top ups, which my friend said COULD be done on the same day. (He knew because he used the same service provider and had gotten a new number very recently).
The shopkeeper then objected saying the multiple top ups would not be activated, only one would be activated, we should only get one done, etc.
He then went back to the other offer that he had told us about when we first entered the shop. He was really hard selling the offer. "It's the best offer available, the cheapest" etcetc.
My friend and I were convinced and we went for that offer.
But, we couldn't help but wonder why he was pushing that offer so much?
---------------------------------------------
I was watching an interview of Salman Khan on the TV while I was typing the above.
I have never been a fan of his. I always thought of him as the "caveman", too possessive, always getting into trouble, brattish kind of person.
But, I was really taken by surprise by the interview. The views he expressed seemed so liberal, so well thought out and actually quite mature (for someone with a reputation of a spoilt brat). Not that Salman needs my approbation or wants it :D

XYZ Pilot?
YSR has gone missing. His helicopter was last heard of at around 10 am today morning.
Yes, it is a cause of worry, everyone is praying for him, so am I.
But, isn't the person who was piloting the vehicle and the other passengers equally important? Is't the Pilot who was considered capable enough of ferrying the Head of a State worthy of mention? When asked about the pilot, a politician (whom I wont name) got irritated and said it was not important and said he was sure it would be some "XYZ pilot". Now, doesn't this pilot have a family? Aren't they equally worried about HIM?

Wedding Jitters
No, I am NOT getting married. But, my cousin P (who is my age) is. She is 25 days older than me. It's this thing that we had in our childhood. Three women were pregnant at the same time, my aunt, my mother and our next door neighbour (or rather my grandparents next door neighbour). Since, we were living in the big, celebrated joint family back then, they were our neighbours too. First born was the girl who as we grew older became my best friend until relations between our families soured over a property dispute. Next, cousin P. Then me. All three born in three consecutive months.
Anyway, Cousin P's engagement being announced has left my grandmother all agitated. She's happy, of course that though P has spent her entire life abroad, she has not done something stupid (like bring home a white guy).
But, she is also a little concerned that I am not getting married. For her, I am more important that P. Because I am her SON'S daughter and P her DAUGHTER'S daughter.
She almost got me married last week. Some aunt of mine "allegedly" said yes to some guy on my behalf and wanted me to say yes. She got encouraged by my mother agreeing to let my aunt "look" for boys. She was on the verge of calling my aunt and telling her that we'd agreed for the match before my dad got to her and stopped her on time (thankfully).
The trouble is, though cousin P has stayed abroad and not gotten a boy home, I have stayed in India and fallen in love with a guy not from my caste.
Uff..... I see dark clouds in the distance.

Waiting waiting...
Waiting to get the call from the Company which selected you during campus placements in such a bore!! We were the first 10 people to be selected in College. Now, EVERYONE else has started working, except us.
The first few months, I relaxed at home. Enjoying what I thought of as a short vacation before my “working life” took off. This turned out to be a huge mistake. So, I didn’t look for a job and now have a 6 month gap between end of my PGDM and my job. I have a gap in my Resume. This really sucks. I am looking for a job now, but am in a dilemma of some kind. What if this Company calls us within a month? Then what do I do? So I’m in a Catch 22 situation.
Anyway, this free time has given me time to think and I have made up my mind to do CA. A lot of people are telling me if I wanted to do CA, I should have done it before my MBA or instead of it. (As if I didn’t know that). But, my point is, CA will only ADD to my finance knowledge and I WANT to do it now.
Simple.

Ruination
In your arms
ecstasy I found.
In your love
strength I found.
Love was mine,
I threw it away.
Happiness was mine,
I threw it away.
But I ruined you.
No one can love me
the way you did.
No one can understand me
the way you did.
The one you were
yes, you were.
Yet, I ruined you.
You gave me all you had,
love, patience, wisdom.
You taught me things I'd forgot
laughter, innocence, playfulness.
Still I ruined you
and In your ruination,
I ruined me.
ecstasy I found.
In your love
strength I found.
Love was mine,
I threw it away.
Happiness was mine,
I threw it away.
But I ruined you.
No one can love me

Someone to love
All my life I dreamt
I dreamt of someone to love.
It would be special,
I told myself.
It would be so different,
beautiful.
He would love me and I would never know pain again.
He would love me and never let me feel alone again.
He would tell me I was the only one,
My days would no longer be spent in tears.
I would be happy, at last
He would make me feel beautiful, make me feel secure.
I just feel so empty now.
No one to give, from no one to receive.
No one to tell my secrets to, no one whose secrets I know
Loneliness has enveloped in its fold.
I was born alone,
I have spent my life alone and I will die alone.
All I wanted was someone to love
God, all I ever wanted was someone to love.
One person god, who would be my someone special.
I have spent a lifetime in waiting, guess I’ll spend another too….
There is nothing to live for now.
Nothing.
I dreamt of someone to love.
It would be special,
I told myself.
It would be so different,
beautiful.
He would love me and I would never know pain again.
He would love me and never let me feel alone again.

All about HIM
Deciphering the code,
of that young man.
I read his eyes,
I read his mind.
I see the innocence in his smile,
the boyish charm.
I see the mischief twinkling in his eyes,
the desire to live life!
I see the child,
wanting to play.
I see a young man,
ready for anything that comes his way.
He's proud,
He's arrogant,
He's sweet,
He's a charmer!
of that young man.
I read his eyes,
I read his mind.
I see the innocence in his smile,
the boyish charm.
I see the mischief twinkling in his eyes,
the desire to live life!
I see the child,
wanting to play.
I see a young man,
ready for anything that comes his way.
He's proud,
He's arrogant,
He's sweet,
He's a charmer!
Cruelty
Cruelty, my dear
comes easily to me.
I like being rude,
I like being mean.
I like being sassy,
I like being ME.
Maybe that's because of my own misery.
Whatever the reason, sweetheart,
That's me!
comes easily to me.
I like being rude,
I like being mean.
I like being sassy,
I like being ME.
Maybe that's because of my own misery.
Whatever the reason, sweetheart,
That's me!

Quotes that make sense
"No matter that patriotism is too often the refuge of scoundrels. Dissent, rebellion, and all-around hell-raising remain the true duty of patriots."
~ Barbara Ehrenreich
"Dont say you love somebody and then change your mind ... Love isnt like picking what movie you want to watch."
~ Natalie
"The rays of happiness, like those of light, are colorless when unbroken."
~ Henry W. Longfellow
